I began this blog as a way to share the experiences I'm gaining on a daily basis as a new bus rider in the central Florida area. I don't think the city matters in terms of the variety of people one encounters on the bus however, i do believe that the odd happenings I will share on this blog are common to all forms of public transportation.
I have an insanely unique viewpoint. I am in my mid 20s, I work as a server in a well known chain restaurant and I'm almost done with my degree. I grew up as an upper middle class white girl who earned a scholarship to FSU, BUT poor decision making coupled with some very bad luck has led me to a point where I ride the bus everyday to work and I'm not quite sure how I'll be able to get back to where I need to be to reach the goals Ive set for myself.
I'm sure parts of my story are shared by my fellow travellers (and perhaps by you) and I understand that all of us (and by "us" I mean the decent, striving, struggling, hopeful) are just trying to figure out what it is we're doing and what our places are in this world in general and our society and city in particular. That's what I intend this blog to be: a soul searching, humanity observing, joke riddled account of one woman's fight against apathy, neuroses, and stagnation as well as her fight for and emulation of love, triumph, silliness, genuineness, laughter, legalization, creating good habits, feminism, the lower middle class, liberalism, good deeds, art, sex and all beautiful and related topics.
Next to come: an overview of my bus ride and general bus route. Don't worry: it'll be hilarious.
